My name is Wilster Eigo I'm a BSTM student currently in 3rd year. As I grow up I never thought that I would be taking this program cause I am a person who is very timid and afraid to be sorrounded by people I don't have the confidence to socialize to anyone but that change when I go to college, I have no one to talk to as I enroll for this program I'm only dependent from my friends but since I am the only one taking this program out of all my friend group cause they have different programs also, I started to realize that in order for me to grow I need to step up and don't be afraid or shy to socialize to somebody. I started to change the way that I usually do I'm slowly setting aside the habits that I made ever since I was young. I become sociable to someone by slowly getting to not be timid, I gain new friends as I do the things that I haven't usually do I became a different person from the person who is shy to a person who is now sociable and not afraid to spe

I also met other students who shared her passion for travel. I join educational tour, explored new places, and learned about different cultures. I loved being part of a group that shared her interests and supported my dreams.  I knew that a degree in tourism management would require me to learn about a lot of different things, from marketing and finance to history and geography. I was eager to learn everything I could, and I was always asking questions and seeking out new knowledge. I knew that the more I le

SHE a Dreamer

"The first day i walked in this University, I felt the weight of my dreams and my family's hopes on my shoulders." Growing up in a small town , I often watched my parents work tirelessly to me and my two siblings. They sacrificed so much to provide for our family, and their hard work instilled in me to keep pursuing for our education. I dreamed of a better life, one filled with adventure and opportunities, but I knew that pursuing a college degree would be a challenge to us especially because we are 3 that pursuing education at the same time  I had always been a good student. In high school, I worked hard to get top grades. My parents were proud of me and always told me how much they believed in my future. They imagined me graduating with honors, going to a great job, and living a successful life. I wanted to make them proud, but college was a whole new world. When I arrived at college, I was excited but also scared. The classes were much harder than I expected. I spent

The Art of Letting Go: The Quiet Isolation of College Life

Image
In highschool, I had a reputation for being outgoing, approachable, and friendly. I often got invited to parties and events because of my upbeat personality. I wasn't the stereotypical "life of the party", but I was always present, I am a person who could start a conversation with someone and make them feel heard. When I entered college, I always imagined that I would make a lot of friends. To be honest, I wasn't socially and mentally prepared for college life, because of the Pandemic (Covid19). Just like the others, I was also quite excited about the fresh start college offered. Many weeks has passed and I started to build connections with my classmates, schoolmates, and the people in my apartment. The campus was buzzing with pissibilities, and it felt life the friendship we made would last a lifetime.    As the first year turned into second, I started to notice something unsettling. The strong bond we had built started to loosen. Our friendship faded away so qui

The Girl Who Wanted a Hug, Not a Trophy

Image
As children, we all crave our parents' attention. The pride in their eyes when we earned a star, the excitement of showing them a perfect score in exchange for a small reward – it all fueled our desire to be acknowledged. There was a girl, so thirsty for her parents' attention, that she did everything she could to be noticed. Her name was Jestine, and she was determined to be the perfect daughter. Jestine had six siblings – four boys and three girls, including herself. Sometimes, she felt her parents were unfair to her, especially when comparing her to her siblings. She was innocent, soft-hearted, and immature at the time. But when she entered high school, she dedicated herself to achieving excellence. Every year, she aimed for the top of her class, striving to earn awards and certificates. She did it all for her parents. Despite all the challenges she faced, all she truly wanted was for her parents to be proud of her and to spend time with her as their daughter.      As

Turning Pain into Power: A Journey of a Resilient Boy

Image
The eyes are often regarded as windows to the soul, revealing the depths of sadness or hardship one may endure. However, when viewing the entire face, a different narrative unfolds that of resilience, determination, and strength.    In a big world, there is a boy named Ervin, whose life was often marked by unfair treatment. From a young age, he faced judgement from others. Whether it was about his identity, appearance, interests, nor family background, Ervin often felt the sting of invalidation. Others would mock him for being different, but he feels that being different makes him unique from the others.   At home, the pressure didn't give way. His parents, although loving, he feels that they had high expectations, often comparing him to her more accomplished sibling. Sometimes he can't help but be jealous seeing a happy and whole family, wish he had something like that too. This led him to feel like he was constantly falling apart, and the weight of these judgements began to
