SHE a Dreamer

"The first day i walked in this University, I felt the weight of my dreams and my family's hopes on my shoulders."

Growing up in a small town , I often watched my parents work tirelessly to me and my two siblings. They sacrificed so much to provide for our family, and their hard work instilled in me to keep pursuing for our education. I dreamed of a better life, one filled with adventure and opportunities, but I knew that pursuing a college degree would be a challenge to us especially because we are 3 that pursuing education at the same time

I had always been a good student. In high school, I worked hard to get top grades. My parents were proud of me and always told me how much they believed in my future. They imagined me graduating with honors, going to a great job, and living a successful life. I wanted to make them proud, but college was a whole new world.

When I arrived at college, I was excited but also scared. The classes were much harder than I expected. I spent hours studying, but my grades didn’t reflect my efforts in other subjects. After my second semester, I looked at my report card and felt a wave of disappointment. I had received lower grades in others. I felt like I had let down my family and myself.

I began to doubt my abilities. I would sit in my dorm room, overwhelmed, and think about giving up. The pressure to succeed was crushing. My family expected so much, and here I was, struggling to keep my head above water. I avoided telling them how I felt, fearing their disappointment. Instead, I put on a brave face and pretended everything was fine.

One evening, after a particularly tough day, I decided to reach out for help. I ask my bestie that have the same subject that i have . To my surprise, she was understanding and offered me resources to help. We helped each other, and I realized I wasn’t alone.

Gradually, my grades began to improve. I started to find my footing, but I also discovered something important: my worth wasn’t just tied to my grades. I joined in several Art Contests in the university and experiencing public speaking that once my weakness but now I loved .This experience filled me with purpose and joy. I learned that while academics were important, pursuing what I loved mattered even more.

Through this journey, I learned that it’s okay to struggle. Failure does not define you; it’s how you rise from it that matters. I found strength in vulnerability and discovered that asking for help is a sign of courage, not weakness.

I learned that perseverance and determination could overcome obstacles. My background didn’t define me; my hard work and passion did. I realized that pursuing my dreams was not just about personal success, but also about creating a better life for my family.

If you find yourself feeling lost or disappointed, remember that it’s okay to stumble. Everyone has their own path, and it’s not always smooth. Focus on what truly matters to you, and don’t be afraid to reach out for support. Your journey is yours to shape, and every step, even the hard ones, can lead you to something wonderful.

If you come from a humble background or face financial challenges, know that your dreams are still within reach. Stay focused, work hard, and seek out opportunities. Surround yourself with supportive people who believe in you. Your journey may be tough, but with determination, you can turn your dreams into reality.
