This food is considered one of the rare delicacies or dessert that are only found in Antique Province, It is only known between the Northern and Southern part of Antique who made this delicacy, the Municipality of Belison and Tobias Fornier. Most people living in the Northern part of Antique doesn't know the food "Huwad Huwad" it is unique and rare for such a delicacy that is only found in Antique. This delicacy shows that no one not even the people around Antique can copy because of its uniqueness and rareness and not everybody knows this delicacy even if you're from Antique. It gives a kind of feeling that there's more to life or to know your province, there's so much to explore even if it's just here in Antique, "Start Local and enjoy Local" whether it could be destinations or foods.
About "Huwad Huwad"
Do you know the term "Huwad Huwad" means to Copy, imitated or False. It's such a jolly name for such a delicacy to eat and it has its own unique name on how you can tell them apart from other delicacies because most of the delicacies are alike and in order for people to know the difference the locals call it that way so it's easy to be identified but you can tell "Huwad Huwad" is different from others.
Where to Buy "Huwad Huwad" ???
Just go to the local market of the province of Antique between Belison and Tobias Fornier ask the locals, but usually the vendors peddle it house to house.
What is "Huwad Huwad" made of ?
Ground glutinous rice, coconut milk and muscovado sugar are poured into test tube-shaped receptacles made of banana leaves and then steamed to make huwad-huwad.
Try this delicacy "Huwad Huwad" your journey is incomplete if you visit to Antique but haven't tried this delicacy What are you waiting for there's always a room for tasting and eating.
